2017 Recap Update

Greetings in Jesus Name!

2017 was an exciting year for the ministry here in the Eastern Province of Zambia, and we want to thank each of you that had a part in Reaching Zambia for Christ!

As our 5th year anniversary of being on the field in Zambia approaches, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness and are humbled at the honor it is to serve Him here in Chipata! The ministry continues to be both rewarding and challenging, and only Glory will reveal the full impact of faithfully preaching the Gospel in the Eastern Province.

We began a weekly series of teachings gathering men from different areas around Malongwe Village. We have regularly had close to thirty men who have been faithful to attend, and some walk or ride a bike from as far away as ten miles.

There is also a group who have been meeting for Bible Studies on their own for over a year. We have assisted them with teaching and training in the Scriptures . These men come  quite a distance from the Village of Mapungu. Please keep them in prayer as they grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ and continue to teach their own villages.

Church Updates

Big Tree Bible Baptist Church

celebrated its 5th anniversary in September, and is growing well under the leadership of Pastor Andrew Jere. A Pastor’s House has been built on the property. The youth continue to be excited about evangelism and many decisions for Christ have been made in 2017!

Chikoka Bible Baptist Church

had its charter service in June, and has been growing ever since. A deep well has been dug there, and they are making preparations to build a permanent structure.

Msekera Bible Baptist Church

is a group of several faithful people, and they continue to have a great desire to learn the scriptures. Please pray for a pastor to be raised up to lead this flock!

Mapungu Village

is a new outreach, and we are praying for the Lord’s leading how best to reach this distant village.

Discipleship Training

We now have four courses translated into Nyanja, and weekly continue to go each preaching point and more in-depth teach the Word of God. We will continue to translate these Bible Institute type materials to further equip these believers.

Project Outreach

Bore holes, Community schools and Clinic helps, School sponsorship, innovative cooking and water sourcing are some areas we have had an impact in the Eastern Province.

As we prepare the ministry here for our furlough, we are working diligently to set up a framework that the work will continue to grow, and Pastor Henry Gwese will continue to teach and preach in my absence. He is a Zambian national whom I have partnered with since our return in 2015, and he has the gift of teaching and a passion for evangelism. I am blessed to call him my friend and co-laborer in the Lord. Please pray for Abusa Henry, his wife Phyllis, and their five children.

We have our tickets to go stateside and will fly March 19. We have already begun filling the calendar with meetings, and Janice has some Ladies conferences scheduled as well. We are looking forward to this time home with family and pray we can reconnect with many of you as well!

Serving with Joy!

Dan, Jan & Savannah Jalowiec
