Greetings from Chipata, Zambia!

These past few months have included thousands of kilometers traveled, some “Ministry Firsts”, the birth of a new church, as well as several decisions for salvation, baptism, and rededication to Christ! We are blessed to see first hand the Moving of the Holy Spirit in and among the people of Zambia. While we continue to press forward, we want to stop and say THANK YOU to our faithful prayer and financial supporters! As we serve the Lord in Zambia, it is a blessing to know there is a whole host of the Lord’s people that are also serving alongside us!

Please enjoy a few highlights of the past few months, and know that you share in the reward of these victories! May God bless and continue to encourage you as you serve Him!

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

AERM BusAfrican Encounter Revival Ministries

In June, Big Tree BBC hosted its first ever youth camp conducted by Encounter Revival Ministries of Zambia. Over fifty of the young people were kindled with a spark that still burns strong as they have been going on their own to evangelize into different areas. It has been the prayer of our hearts that these youth would learn to serve the Lord in spirit and in truth, and this week of concentrated Bible teaching was such a huge blessing with the theme of Revival. As I was driving on the road I saw this house with the picture of the ERM bus painted on it, with the Camp theme verse. It is a daily reminder to all who walk by!

Chikoka ChurchAlso in June, Chikoka Bible Baptist Church held its first Sunday service, and has already built a larger structure to
accommodate everyone. This fellowship of believers has faced outside challenges, but are faithful and eager to learn the scriptures! There is a core of several faithful men, and each week we are having visitors attend Sunday service. This month we are drilling a deep well to supply fresh water to this area, which is so desperately needed! Access to fresh water will help the nearby school, the village, and willenable them to mold bricks as well that they can proceed to build a stronger brick church.

We Praise the Lord for the great work He is doing here!

Leadership ConfTents at SS

In July, a team of 12, led by Larry Waye and Jay Schug, representing several churches from Alabama came to minister in Chipata for several weeks. They were the backbone of our first ever Eastern Province Discipleship conference. This was a three day “Camp Style” conference, where we brought in people from all around Zambia’s Eastern and Copperbelt Provinces and Malawi. There were up to 70 attendees, with several sleeping in tents. The team taught through the life of Joseph, and the feedback we continue to get has been very encouraging! We already have plans to have our 2nd Eastern Province Leadership Conference in 2019! We continue to hear testimonies from this time, of how the Lord did a great work in the lives of the attendees and how their walk with the Lord continues to grow as a result.

July Team

During the Alabama Team’s time with us, we also did Street evangelism, a Bible Conference and VBS at Big Tree, and Sunday Services at two other preaching points. Their visit is still impacting the people of these ministries, and we praise God for their gift of encouragement to us as well!

In August we drove 14+ hours one way across the country to the Copperbelt Province to attend and minister at the annual conference at Kafulafuta Baptist Mission in Luanshya. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement!  We also sent three men from the Eastern Province to join the Pastor’s Refresher Course to experience and be charged by this amazing conference.

We are preparing to be stateside starting March 2018, and are looking forward to connecting with supporting churches as time and travel schedules allow. If you have a conference or a Missions Emphasis month that you would like us to be involved with, please contact me at your earliest convenience. We are always excited to share what the Lord is doing here in Chipata, Zambia, and want to be available to encourage the body of Christ and share our passion for Global Missions.
